Tests and Results
Please allow 2 weeks for routine blood test results to be sent back to the surgery. If you would like to know whether your blood test results are back, please call us between 12pm and 4pm when a receptionist will be able to check your records and let you know.
For your safety receptionists have been instructed not to give your results to you over the phone, results will be given face to face during a routine appointment with your Doctor.
If there is an abnormality in your results, the receptionist will be able to tell you what action is needed according to a note the Doctor has left on your records, e.g. book an appointment to see the Doctor or repeat the blood test or slightly pout of range but no action needed.
You can now also access and view your results through the NHS app
Cervical smears – Everyone who has a smear carried out at the surgery will receive their results by letter either from the cervical screening department within 2 weeks of the test. This will tell you the result and any follow-up arrangements. If you have not heard after four weeks please ring in after midday and we will chase the results for you.
Pregnancy tests – the doctor or nurse will make arrangements with you for these results.
Other investigations – these will be given personally, by the doctor or the nurse, at a follow-up appointment.
